parts gone bad
has this happend to anyone else and are they easy fixes? my glove box dosent like to shut. the exhaust needs to be replaced. and wether strips in the trunk have gone bad. and the windows take pauses when going up. they are power windeows
Try this remove the screws around the door and the one in the center of the door handle the pull handle not the grab bar. Be careful and work with the trim ring around the handle or you will break it its flimsey plastic but it will come off. Now with all the screws out including the ones under the carpet strip along the bottom of the door panel, lift up about three inches the door panel will come off the center bracket as the slide comed out of that bracket now rest one end on the ground and depress the plastic release tabs on the side light and the window control and pull the plugs out now the door panel is free set aside. Now look along the top of the door on the inside where your arm would be resting if you were driving with the window down. see the bolts with the allen hole in the middle. Take a socket and crack the nut loose you can then put an allen wrench into the center and if you look on the other side of the allen you will see a glass sweep which can be moved in a little to take up the wear it may have doo all of them I cant remember if thier are three and the rear one is just a nut no allen. That will take up any slop that might be binding the window. While you have the door apart peal off the plastic dont get the black goo al over everything its a tar and a bummer to get off so juet get it out of the way so you can spray white molly grease on the works the cables and tracks to make everything run smooth. This is a service that most cars never get unless you own a VW and they show you how to do it in detail on most of the cars they build doors latches hinges all get white molly grease. Now do the repeat in reverse and it will slide right back togather if the screw holes line up uou got it easy huh.
