ok so yeah i am his friend and he is talking about my car... i also have a few questions..... i mean the guy that has rebuilt it hs rebuilt it 2 times he is about to do it a third time... well he told me that he is going to check it out from top to bottom and if it has been abused he is not going to rebuild it, i mean i dont abuse it other than getting it up to 130 twice i drive it to and from work ... so yeah and i dont know what else about it other than i need a paint job and windo tent if any one could hook me up let me know... also if any one is willing to make some money i would like to get my engine rebuilt with a twin turbo put on... so let me know what ya'll know ...
Pure white smoke usually indicates coolant getting into cumbustion (blown head gaskets, possible leakage in head or cracked block). If the smoke has a blue tint it is usually oil (valve stem seals, rings, or again a blown head gasket). If you're not familiar with engines and troubleshooting them I would take it to someone who is.
Is your tranny a manual or automatic? As far as the smoke, warm your car up then take a look at the coolant overflow tank and look for bubbles. The 2 times that I have needed head gaskets(2 Dodge Spirits)there was white smoke and bubbles. Hope this helps. John
Automatic OK first off the guy who is rebuilding it may be a bad transmission guy. Not a bad mechanic just not a good transmission guy. If the tranny has blown three times it may have a wharped case. I have a guy in New Mexico who is a transmission specialist and he tells me about this stuff he rebuilds transmission that work. Allot of modern transmissions have alloy cases and the heat causes the housing to wharp. So no matter how many times you rebuild them they fail because the parts wear out in a few hundred miles. Sounds like this guy needs to go back to school on late model transmissions. the wrong fluid will kill a Mitsubishi transmission also.
