Default Ticking sound.

Hi...Im new to these forums....got a Dodge Stealth RT 1994 DOCH...and it ticks when it starts..quite loud i would say....
I've read the lifter issues....I consider that a posible problem....but how about a starter problem ?
It ticks in special when is cold outside....if i start it again when the engine is hot it still ticks but very noticeable.

Thanks.

Chances are it is lifter tick. Very very common with these cars. Do this; slowly (very slowly) rev the engine to about 3000rpm's, then slowly let off the throttle. Usually this will make the lifter tick (technically, they are called lash adjusters) go away. Only for a short time though, it (the tick) seems to come and go, at random it seems.

Default RE: Ticking sound.

Hi!!
I`m from estonia, My inglish is not the bets but i try my best.
The Ticking sound is from hydraulick lash adjuster. I just a caple of weeks ago made a full engin repair. And before it in engin was loud ticking sound. After that rpair the engin is working flawlessly as new.
If you ahve some other questions about engin , ask from me , meiby I can help you.
