Hello, I need help....
I have a 91 Plymouth Laser RS turbo, auto. I love this car, but it isnt worth biulding, so I have been told by many mechanics. I was looking at a Stealth, I like the all wheel drive idea, and I looooooove standards. Anyone have any ideas for a car?
Things for car.
I don't drag often, I love tracks and cornering. No drifting.
Easy access to parts / upgrades.
Cheep parts (optional)
RELIABLILTY!!!

Everything I have seen and read, Mitsubishi engines (which is in the stealth) are high maintenance. If not maintained...well best of luck. There are upgrades out there but you may need to redefine your definition of easy access and cheap.

I don't drag often, I love tracks and cornering. No drifting. It's heavy, and pushed to the upper limits will understeer, but it is fun to carve canyons in.
Easy access to parts / upgrades.3sx, Dynamic Racing and IPS motorsports.
Cheep parts (optional)Not likely
RELIABLILTY!!! A 10 to 15 year old sports car is not always reliable.

Pick 2.
I bought my TT last summer for $4500, it had been taken care of, regular maintenance and upkeep, a pretty good deal in my opinion...but knowing the nature of the beast, I set aside a couple grand for things that do pop up with an old(er) sports car. A few weeks after I bought it, the ECU had to be rebuilt ($250), I could not determine when the last 60K maintenance had been performed, so, for my peace of mind, I had a full 180K tune up done on it ($1200 or $600 if you do the work yourself), I replaced all the drivetrain fluids ($75 for premium fluids) and the digital display crapped out ($100, used). That was within 6 months of ownership. There were $40,000 sports cars when new...even though the purchase price has come down, the cost to maintain them has not.
I've owned my RT (non-turbo) for 6 years and have had all the computers rebuilt, had the 120K done, replaced the wheel bearings and CV joints.
I'm not trying to frighten you away from the platform, just trying to tell what you could pop up unexpected. That being said, I wouldn't trade either one of my cars for any other. I love them.
Handling, for such a heavy car, I think they handle pretty well. Stable on the highway at high speeds. The AWD is awesome in bad weather.

I plan on track racing, or street, whatever is there. I love my Laser RS, but I want a standard. I know what you mean when you say that the unexpected happens. All of my fuel injectors crapped the bed no more than 3 weeks after buying it, 85$ per injector from advanced auto, which was cheepest near me. Then the ECU burnt, yes burnt, as in on fire, and that was 750$. Then my ball joints went, and timing belt snapped, no damage there really, so happy for that. Then my radiator burst on the bottom half, clogged up and *pop* on the highway at 65 only. I know what you mean about unexpected stuff, it happens to everything. Like my ZX-6, that fired a ton of wiring and I am currently fixxing that. Also, I am really a Mopar man myself, and would like to stick to, well, Mopar cars. That is why I am looking at the Stealth. I want to haul *** down the backroads by my house, and not have to worry about sliding or loosing controll too much. I had my Laser down one of the roads where I live at 115 around a corner, it was dusk but I could see fine still, it was a sloping corner to the right on a left turn, not too hard of a corner either. The rear end lost traction and the front followed sute. It, being a front wheel drive car and having to keep in the gas when you loose controll, I just floored it. It wasn't the tires slipping, I run Nitto Neo Gens(http://www.nittotire.com/tires_neogen.asp) and they get excellent grip, it was the fact that if I had rear wheel drive, I would have made it around no problem. But mainly I want to get rid of the Laser because the 3rd cylinder is just about blown, way lower compression than the other 3, so I am selling it and am looking at the Stealth.
I was looking at the 1994 Stealth TT. I found one for 6k with i think it was 90k miles. Nothing majorly wrong with it.
