I have heard about the Getrag transmissions screwing up horribly, mainly due to grinding synchros. I was reading Wikipedia article in terms of the transmission problems, and it was suggested that a synthetic oil would either completely fix the problem or alleviate it majorly. Does anyone happen to know the synthetic that is suggested?

 

i don't know for sure, but i use AMSoil in all my stuff

 

I use GM syncromesh in my 5 speed. Not a miracle cure, but does make it a little smoother.

 

Redline all the way! Expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Agreed, I use Redline Shockproof Heavy in my transfer case and rear diff.
