Dodge Stealth TT Lifter Tick? Other questions too.
I know I shouldn't be bothering to ask since the vehicle is in virtually perfect running condition (mechanically/electrically, cosmetic needs work) but is there any sure fire way to get rid of the slight lifter tick I have? I currently had the oil changed to a 10W-40 Castrol Syntec synthetic oil, the fuel system completely cleaned out, the tires rotated/balanced/aligned. All I gotta do is find a mechanic and get a code for the check engine light via diagnostic, reupholster the leather, replace the windshield (it has a chip in it, I am finnicky), and repaint the rear bumper. Also, that panel at the base of the hatch (close to the roof) is in need of replacement, do ya'll know of any places that would carry that paneling?
everything you just listed off, is exactly what's "wrong" with mine. the lifter tick from what i hear and read is normal. synthetic oil quites it. any leather seat i've ever seen that is older than 5 years, has some part of it torn or worn. that panel on the back, if it's on the passenger side, i'm pretty sure i'm missing the plastic bolt that holds that in. it's an old sports car, imo just enjoy it. don't sweat the small things
You doh't need a mechanic to pull the codes from the ECU. Procedure for pulling codes. It's very easy to do, all you need is an analog volt meter. I bought a cheapo one from home depot for $15 and it works fine.
This guy will probably have the panel you need, or you can buy one from the dealership.
Keeping the oil changed on a regular basis with a high quality oil will keep the lifter tick to a minimum. I used synthetic oil in my TT and it rarely, if ever, has lifter tick. Keep it changed often and keep an eye on the level and you should have no problem. I still use dino oil in my RT, it ticks every so often, but usually when the oil is a bit low.

I just ran a diagnostic on the car using a volt meter, and I found out that it is the Oxygen Sensor (front bank). Now all I have to do is check the following and see which is faulty:
Harness and connector
O2 Sensor
Fuel Pressure
Injectors
Intake Air leaks
I am just curious though, anyone know what they mean by the fuel pressure? Do they mean the pressure itself or a sensor of some sort or what? Sorry I am stupid.
EDIT:
I do have another question, if it is the O2 Sensor, could I use one from my little bro's 3000GT SL salvage? Does the SL even have the O2 sensor and if so, would it even work? Thanks in advance
