Default Transmission Problems

I am not very mechanically inclined or knowledgeable on transmissions so hear is my question. I have a Manual ES 94 Stealth and after driving if for awhile it grinds going into third gear. When I first start driving it in the morning it does not grind. If you slowly shift it into third when you shift up, it won't grind, but always grinds when you down shift. I have been told that the gears are going out, but have no idea if I need a new tranny or if this problem can be fixed. Thanx for any help in advance!!

Default RE: Transmission Problems

It's weird that it starts grinding after it has been ran for awhile, normally it is the other way around. I doubt the gears themselves are going bad, more likely it is the synchronizers (sp?) starting to wear out. Check and change the fluid with a quality oil, such as GM syncromesh, and see if that helps.
