Default Stealth Clutch Play - 'loosy goosy' on hot days?

Hi All, I'm the original owner of a '95 Dodge Stealth, base model non-turbo, manual, 140K miles. My original slave cylinder in my clutch blew out at 90K, had both slave/master clutch cylinders replaced. Then I moved to AZ, much hotter, blew out slave at 135K miles, replaced both slave/master to be safe. What I notice is that the clutch doesn't have as much play and feels 'loosy goosy' during the hot, AZ summer days. I've read other reports about Stealth clutches and their strange feel. Seems like I don't notice this effect during cooler winter.

Do any of you notice the same thing, that is as it gets hotter your clutch play seems less? I'm thinking that the clutch cylinders are pretty susceptible to increased heat. Have any of you had problems with your clutches? Inputs welcome.

Thx!

I would say the same issue here..still trying to figure out what exactly it is. I move from NC to NV...and been seeing all kind of things going bad in the hot weather.

Had the radiator fan fixed, some relays, temp sensors, idler motor....seems that electrical wiring is affetcted by the heat.

Now I have the cluth problem....I did one of the basic tests of slowly letting the clutch go in first gear..and it didnt slip at all the car just stalled. That supposed to be an indication that the clutch is still good.

When I drive I dont get that much power anymore.....Im not sure if the clutch play is different then what it was before but the acceleration sucks.....RPM goes up but the car takes a while to response to it and when it does is a slow response.

Also....when the car is cool..it seems that the response is a lot better. Maybe I have a combination of problems.

So I will replace the clutch...but I'd like to adjust it first..when I figure out how

Hi, I also had to replace the actual physical clutch at around 94K miles. The symptom occurred when I would just shifted to 3rd gear, gave it gas, and it would pop out of gear but I still had normal play on the clutch pedal. When my clutch cylinders blew, different symptom of course, I simple lost all play in the clutch pedal.

But I believe the intense heat simply makes the clutch fluid more fluid and perhaps it's more susceptible to leaking from the cylinders. Either way, my clutch seems to have less play in the summer than the cooler winter months. Auto folks tell me this is just because it's a hydraulic clutch, but I don't like it (it sucks to be stranded on the road when your clutch cylinder blows!).
