1993 stealth having problems
I have a 1993 Dodge Stealth SOHC. One of my problems is that I have a check engine light that no mechanic can get a code from. They all want to send the ECM in for testing with companies that specialize with testing the units but I know the unit is good. The only problem is that it is the ECM for a 1994 SOHC. The car starts and runs fine but I get this check engine light after a few minutes of driving it. After a while I started to have problems starting it and when it would start it would idle roughly, making a gurgle type of sound. If you try to rev the engine and give it a little gas, I see the RPM's drop and the car sounds like it wants to shut off and will if you give it too much gas. It takes a minute but it eventually starts to sound like it is idling like it's supposed to. I'm no mechanic and have very little knowledge about auto-mechanics, but I can only conclude that perhaps my injectors are going bad and/or my fuel pump is dying out on me. I can't help but maybe think that maybe the wrong ECM for the car may have something to do with it as well. I've taken it to two notable and trustworthy mechanics that couldn't find anything wrong with it other than they weren't aable to retrieve the codes from the ECM. If anyone can help me out or help me find the correct ECM for my car I would appreciate it. I'll check often for responses.
