I have a 92 Dodge Stealth..5 speed. It's old but pretty! It's got 278,000 miles on it and runs ok other that this problem that just started yesterday! My question is this...When I am sitting at a stop sign or red light, the temp gauge goes up to HOT! And it's got the burning smell, if that helps! And then when I take off, it goes back to normal and the smell goes away!...Could it be my fan belt? Somebody HELP ME!!!!!!!!

 

You don't have a fan belt, the fans are electric. It could be the temp sensor malfunctioning, or the fan motor could be bad. Start the car up in the driveway, and watch to see if the fan on the passenger side of the radiator kicks on. The fan on the driver side of the radiator kicks on when the AC is running.
