Default Valve Cover gasket question

ive had my 01 R/T for about a year now, no major problems, i noticed a burning oil smell when im at a stop ligh and i see that my valve cover gaskets are leaking, both of them. The car has 74000 on her and she still runs strong, is this a common thing on these cars? Upon further analysis i found that im leaking a little bit of koolant, what are the common things that go wrong on these engines?I want to get them before it ends up costing mea fortune, thanks

Default RE: Valve Cover gasket question

haha...i took mine to the dealership this past week, as i have an extended powertrain warranty. my valve cover gaskets certainly appeared to be leaking, but i was told that it was the filler cap, which also appeared to be leaking (about 60,000 miles). Ive not noticed any coolant leaks with mine, as the underside of my car is spotless, as is the engine, except for right around the valve covers.

they cleaned the hell out of my engine, and put "leak dye" in the oil...im to drive it a while and if i see a sign of leaking, im to take it back so they can hit it with the black light.
