Default Factory alarm issue

[:@]Well I lost my keys to my 2000 stratus with a factory alarm system. I do have a spare key but when I turn on the ignition it cuts off like I'm trying to steal it. So it's obvious I need the remote. I know I can get another one from ebay or Dodge dealer; but is there a way to disable the factory alarm system so I can use my spare key? I looked for a fuse or something similar but I am really at a stand still until I get another remote. Can anyone give me some insight on this please!![:@]

The problem is not in the keyless entryremote it is in your key. Our cars have a chip inkey (in thegrayplastic area with the Dodgesymbol)that has to be programed to the car to make them work and allow the car to run. You can purchase a new key on eBay, but you will need to go to the dealership to have them program the key. I have heard the price to get it done goes down every year. Also from my understanding, there is no way to get around this. This is built into the cars alarm system. Removing any fuse will not allow the car to start at all.

try unlocking the pass side door or trunk. this is quite often built in as a last resort bypass. it does not "turn off" the alarm, but may work and get you going. happy motoring.
