2004 idling problems help!!
hey there fellas
I got a 2004 sxt stratus, that has a real idling problem. It feels like its being starved for fuel intermidiantly or miss firing.
My girlfriend took it over to a garage the other day to get the comp check on it. But the guy there said he wouldnt hook it up cause there was no check engine light. So he check the engine coil pack and said to her that basically it was over firing. He changed out the plugs and when she brought them home to me there was a straight line sered in the plug from top to bottom. Any ideas???????

take it to the local parts store like auto zone, they will read codes for free. somtimes you will have codes that don't make the light stay on. codes for missfire are : p0300 muti misfire, p0301 #1 cly, p0302 #2 cly, through p0306 #6 cly. also check plug wires, air filter, and for vac leaks. let us know what you find.

Sounds like you had a bad spark plug there. It happens. Change the spark plugs and gap them correctly. Also the coil packs are known to not last very long. I know I had one go out on my car.
