New to forum/Stratus's
Hey guys, I got a stratus a few weeks ago.... Its a 1998 Stratus ES (has the 2.5L v6)
I had a few questions as I am waiting for my license to get this baby on the road.
* I was wondering how many gears it has i thought it was 5 but someone said 4????
*It has a lot of miles about 170,000 how long do these things last?
*After its motor dies is it worth swapping out the motor or just get a new car?
If anyone can answer any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated
o ya and how fast does it go stock?

1. It is automatic it is only a 4 speed.
2. It is a lot of miles, but if it runs good and you take care of it, it should get another 100,000 or more miles.
3. Depends on how much you paid for the car and how much you are paying for a new motor.
with that many miles, i wouldn't hot dog it unless you want a new car.
for a $500 ride, ALWAYS be on the look out for a new ride. if it was worth more than that, it would have sold for more than $500 (i would have anyway).
read up on the ATF in this site, bad things happen if you use the wrong stuff.
i once had a '79 camaro with 225K (still had the factory dual-jet), it ran strong till i got rid of it. as long as you take care of the car it will last quite a while.
