stratus drag race
hello all, new to the forum and new to my 2004 dodge stratus sxt
just wanted to know everyones input on this...
me (2004 dodge stratus sxt 2.4i 4c) and my brother (1996 dodge stratus, stock engine) raced this week down a long street and to my suprise his car owned mine!
does anybody know why the older car would have won even though they have the same exact engine. I thought it was the redesigned body (which could have made my car heavier), but he thought the limitations (governer) on the newer car may have been different. anybody...?

Where the cars sedans or coupes? The engines are very different between them. Both the 1st gen and 2nd gen stratus coupe is made by Mitsuibishi.
But the 1st gen stratus is much lighter than the 2nd gen, sedan and coupes. Also another thing can be, transmissions and of course, the biggest factor in any race is the driver.
