hello,
im am a proud owner of a 98 dodge stratus sedan.
and i am wondering what i can do to it. i wish to use this car in compations(Private ashphalt track)
guys what can i do?
preformance wise?
and can the ECU's be flashed on this to change the top speed? im not enjoying the 110 limit......its pathetic in comparison to some but i still LOVE this car.
any help is much obliged.

You might want to check out the Aftermarket stickie at the top of the section theres some good info on mods that other guys have done..
what is it a 2.4,2.0,or the v6....the ecu can not be flashed and don't buy a 'chip'because are computers are smart enough to cancle them out....but what are you doing going over 110 any ways if you can't beat some one in 0-60 whats the point
over 110 is just stupid any ways

Its the V6
and im really not going over 110, just knowing theres a limit buggs me.
i also have this question.
if i modd my engine, and you cant adjust the ecu on these cars, wouldnt there be a few problems thus restricting the car to run at its optimal?

Well there modding the engine won't change the ECU... so yeah it will still it the limiter... unless you get the ecu flashed to remove that limit. On the other hand... modding the eninge will alow you to get to that limit alot faster :-P
humm, true.
and now the game of kicball with this idea has begun.
anyone know how easy it is to change parts out on our cars?
i know the pully belts were easy to change but thats bout all ive done.

I have not heard of any flash that is going to remove the ECU limit. You will need to find an aftermarket or a stand-a-lone computer to raise or remove that limit.
FYI...the limit is put in place because of the stock tires the car came with from the factory. The stock sedan tires are only safely rated to 112 mph. Anything over that can damage the tire and cause premature failure. Which of course at those speeds you do not want to happen.

Umm... if I remember correctly there is a supposed programmer for this car by APEX... otherwise its custom flashing... which isn't bad but is expensive...
