I own an 2001 Stratus R/T coupe and I'm considering putting a supercharger on it. I started looking around today and the upside is nice an additional HP boost. Whats the downside, besides lower fuel mileage? I have a 100K on this thing and want to make sure my engine makes it at least till 150,000. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? What have you done to yours?

 

well if ur thinking about running a supercharger there is other things you should take into account first of all when u run that much more power, you need a better system to keep your engine cool and superchargers and turbo's both achieve the same goal which is create boost, but i guess its preference im not an expert however but i do know ull probably need an intercooler running ur superccharged stratus

 

it's all about what kit you can afford and how much power you want. unless you have a bill gates bank account. i'd have the motor check by someone who has done a conversion before, like a GOOD shop with a SOLID rep. you could go 150K's on a charged motor ONLY if the motor is already in good shape. if your just looking for the saterday nightrun try looking at nitros, lots cheaper. let us know whats up.
