2.5L w/o A/C???
somewhere between park city and salt lake a belt snapped under the hood. sweet. did they make a 2.5L engine w/o A/C? i seized the air conditioning compressor and clutch in my ride (thus snapping the serpentine belt), but was wondering if i could just put a pulley in there and not worry about the A/C until summer... well, even later - i haven't had A/C in over a year. i don't miss it.
thanks guys!

I went through this with another vehicle. The AC clutch smoked and we had to replace the belt with one to bypass the AC. It was either autozone or o'reilly that showed a specific brand of belts. So I went to the website of the company that made the belts and they had a listing for the car we had without AC so we got that belt. Unfortunately it was a few inches too small and after hours we gave up. So I googled around and found a belt a few inches bigger and what model car it was for, so I just went back to the auto parts store and asked for the belt for that model vehicle and it went on fairly easy.
wasn't tech savvy enough to do the job myself, and since i had a 1999 chrysler cirrus, they didn't make one w/o A/C and nobody would do the "mod" at any of the shops AAA would tow me to. oh well, ended up putting in a new A/C Compressor/Clutch and new belts on it. cost me $510, but hey... it's a cloud car... it'll last for a couple more months, right?
