I have a 2005 Stratus Sedan and my AC compressor has failed and is making a not so pretty noise. We have stopped using it. My question is: how would you rebuild the compressor. My level of automechanic is not very high, but I can follow directions and I can turn a wrench. I have some experience and straight swaps with some parts. My other options are to have a mechanic do it ($600 or so) or buy a new one ($1000 or so). Any help would be very appreciated.
Buy a quality reman. Try Car Quest or if there's a Lee Auto up there. If you change it your self make shore you add oil. Then just have a localshop E&R it.
