Default 02 R/T ... Black paint going bad

Paints starting to go bad on the trunk, top of both the left & right rear panels, the section between the doors and the roof and the paint is slowly flaking off the hood. I'm going to have the car repainted this spring, but some decisions loom aheadand I'm not sure which route to go. I am seriously looking at this: http://www.earlscheib.com/pro4.php..(in my price range, but quality is a ?), I've gotten a few quotes from various body shops around the area and the lowest is $1500 thus far.I like the fact that at Earl's,areason the car notpainted are masked off versus removing window seals, sunroof ect..,(worried about things not going back on as they were, window seals leaking ect...ect). Just wanted to getyour thoughts on my situation[sm=smiley20.gif]

Yes the black paint is notorious for this. Your best bet would get it re-painted fully. I wouldn't go with the price from the website you pasted "You get what you pay for." I would bring it to the body shop get it painted. I also thought they took off all the weather striping and replaced it when the re-paint a car? If not I bet you could get them to do that as well.

" You get what you pay for" is also a thought running thru my mind. I do like step 8 of the process though:
http://www.earlscheib.com/paintProcess.phpand the job does have a life time warranty, but I must say I do have some doubts. The Body shop that quoted the $1500 price is less than a 20 minute walk and their fairly well known, I suppose I should stop by and ask a few more questions ....( now what color to choose).

Thanks

I'd stay with the black, if I were you. Black looks the cleanest i'd think, or even a black/silver two tone would look really good?
