Default octane question 3.0

ive been using 87 octane and been getting 17.5-18 mpg and i know the 3.0 engine reccamends 91 octane for highest performance. If i put 91 will it kill my mileage. What have you guys have been using with your stratus'?

I have the 2.4 and my gas milage won't differ at all between the two.

Usually the 91 octane will help MPG but, overall it is not usually worth the extra cost compared to 87 octane.

...What Frankie said. The milage should increase a little bit depending on your driving style. However, I won't be enough difference in milage to offset the cost of the higher octane fuel.

ok thanks but 87 is fine for the engine right? it says it can use 87-91 but 87 is the minimum octane requirement
