Their isn't much out there fo these cars. As you said it took some money to get your Mazda up their performance wise, it's the same with the Stratus. If you go to either Club3g.com, or 2gstratus.org you can search around the forums and find out some of the performance upgrades that's possible.

 

the V6 top speed is higher than that...ive had my 02 rt just shy of the 145 mark...and my speedo has been checked against a radar gun at 100mph.

I believe that the late 02 models and later had a computer-programmed limit at 135?...but ive not found a fuel cut on my car...but around 145, its pretty much out of steam.

 

That's interesting. I've had mine to 135mph. I never pushed it past that. Of course this was done on a closed road.

i wish that i could find the article, but after buying my stratus, i had a few magazines that reviewed the car, and at least one of them spoke about the cars ability to "use every bit of the speedometer"...but ive read that after mid 2002, the RTs were governed, but the GTS coupes were not...so some guys have swapped to that, or an early 02 and 01 pcm.

 

I would really like to read up on that. If you ever come across it again, would you mind shooting it up here please? Or at least where I could go to find it? That'd be great. Thanks in advance.

 

i have an 04 stratus with the 2.4L i got mine up to around 130

 

what abour the se? made in 02 with the 3.0?

 

Its just a fully automatic V6. Here are the options:

V6 Automatic
SXT(2002-2005)
4cyl automatic
4cyl 5spd

R/T(2001-2005)
V6 5spd
V6 Autostick
There was no V6 option for the SXT 2002-2005.

 

there was no 2.7 option for the SXT? im almost certain that ive seen the early 2g's, such as yours and mine, with the 2.7 dodge engine.
