I'm almost at the end of the Auto-rx cleaning phase and will be having the transmission flushed. I was curious as to wether the transmission has a filter to be replaced or just a screen that'll need cleaned off?

I have an 02 coupe with the 2.4 and my trans-axle has a filter. I would assume yours does to.

 

We have filters.I was told they weren't really neccessary to change?

 

The filters in the Mitsu automatic transmission are difficult to get to and not necessary to change unless a rebuild is done. The fluid can be changed but if you do be sure you use the right tranny fluid to refill. It is not a standard fluid and standard fluid will not work properly.
