2001 SE strange clunking noise.
Well, i've heard lots of things about the ball joints not being lubricated with this year. Only clunking when going over bumps, nothing from turning. And if i apply the brakes there is no clunking. The bushings and links seem fine. Definitely can't reproduce the noise myself. If it is the balljoint would applying the brakes make it not clunk? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Do you go over bumps fast (faster then you should)? Because if you do it could be the ball bearings (I don't think it is, but it could).
Also have you had your alignment checked after this noise started to happen?

I've got an '01 Sedan, and I'm getting a clunking too. It sounds like it's coming from my front passenger side, but the car's performance/handling is seemingly unaffected. Any info on what to look for or solutions is well appreciated!
does the clunking effect anything on your car? Driving, turning, stopping, speed control?
If it is totally unaffected then it may just be an object that has come loose and it moving around. It could also be pipes that are not held still and are rubbing against other objects.
