'99 Stratus Upgrades
Hi all,
I have a 1999 Dodge Stratus with the 2.4 L engine, and I am looking for some performance upgrades that won't break the bank, and I, not being very mechanically inclined, could install myself with little difficulty. Does anyone have some suggestions? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

what are you looking forfrom your stratus?...either way the basics are(sorry for any miss spells)
1. get aair intake system dont worry about a 'cold air intake'...it's not worth it for1 extra hp... if you cant install this quit working on cars
2. get a performance header for a dohc2.0neon...it dose take some extra workbut has been done....some headers would need a weld done or you could justuse an adapter....the long tube headerhasshown some good gains but it's only a extra2hp gain and if you have emissions you would need to relocate the cat...so just get a short tube header.
3. upgrade the exhaust...you have to make it custom but it's worth it....so you might want to get thatlong tube header after allif you do the whole exhaust system
4. these do exsist out there somewhere but is hard to find right now but a 2.4 stratusunder drive pulley (udp) great mod and worth every buck.
5. another cool mod is the dohc 2.0neonsstock intake manifold can be put on with some mods and then you can use a mpx 55-60 mm tb for more air or just use one of all motor mikes(amm) intake manifolds he dose some good work and always gets good results
there are plenty more mods but these are the least expencive and easymodsto install.
ps...if you want to take controll of the power...a 2.0 neons 5 speed mtx (trans) can swap into the stratus with abit of work...ok alot of work
