Default 2001 stratus with front end grinding noise

I have a 2001 2.4 4dr sedan. When I drive it makes a bad roaring/grind as I get upto speed, 60-65 its not to bad unless I turn the wheel to the right (even just slightly) then it gets really loud and I feel a slight vibration in the wheel. I put it up on a lift and it made the same noises and even seemed a bit worse as it came down from speed between 50-30 . As far as I could tell it seems like the noise/vibration is coming from the bearings that the drive shaft goes into, especially the passenger side (the seal looks as if its leaking) I've been scanning this forum and have found some similar posts but not quite the same issue. My question is if is those bearings on the inside of the front differential are bad do I have to remove the entire trans to replace? It looks as if its a full solid unit between the trans and diff. Its the 4speed auto. Thanks in advance for any information.
