Default Ignition problems

Hi I'm new to the forum and have a question for the Guru's. I have had a problem starting my car. I have checked the battery and it's fine.
I ended up finding a blown ignition fuse under the hood. By putting a new fuse in, I am able to start the car once. Once the car is shut off, I am not able to do anything. There isn't any sound (like clicking or anything). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advanced Colin

Badstrat:

Thank you for the quick response. I was reading in my Haynes book and it sounds like the fusible link. Is that similar to what your talking about?

if the fusable link was bad, it wouldnt do anything unless you changed the link everytime

Hi Im having the same problem. I put a fuse in and I get maybe 3 cranks out of it and it blows. I dont know where to look to find the short. Would you tell me where I can find this short? ASAP. I only have one car and I need it to get to work, and I have to fix it myself. I cant afford a machanic to fix it.
