Default Overheating after oil change.

I could be missing some big picture seeing how I am not the most knowledgeable in the region of automobiles. Here it goes.

I take my car in for its routine oil change, but this time bump to a synthetic oil.

It drives fine for a week and then the warmer weather comes around. Just now, I pulled into my driveway and sat in my car idling looking through the mail and I look down and the temp gauge is at 70% ish! I don't know what to do to fix this problem, I don't know if it were the different oil i chose to put in it or the fact that I have a CAI and it somehow stopped working. I don't know.

I have my old intake to install incase that is the issue.

Also, I don't know if this should be taken into consideration but, when driving in the winter, my car only blows warm air when I am acclerating. Aka, when I'm sitting at those long red-lights, It gets pretty cold sometime. This could just be an unrelated issue. Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about cars.

Any help would be nice.

Thanks,
Joe

Sounds to me like a faulty thermostat.

Ok, that was also my conclusion also.

I noticed that I was able to touch the dipstick right after shutting off the car when it was 'overheating'.

On that note, Is it hard to replace the thermostat on a 4cyl Coupe?
