has anyone tried to put gas shocks to open the trunk of a coupe?? My torsion bar broke so i wanted to know if i could just get shocks instead.

 

It's probably far easier to hit the junkyard and get another torsion bar ...
I had to remove mine when I installed a carbon fiber trunk ...
I thought about doing gas struts, but the hinge design was tough to get the right strut to lift and be able to close properly
