My 1996 Stratus recently has been having issues with the front winshield defrost. When you turn the selector **** to defrost, it continues to blow out the front or at the floor. It switches between the front and the floor selection fine, but no response if you turn it to defrost. Any ideas what is causing this?

 

I'd guess that the cable is not shifting the flapper correctly to divert the air... You'll have to get under the dash and follow the cable to see if it's moving properly
