2004 Stratus SE Sedan, Good Value?
Hi everyone,
I have recently happened on to an opportunity to buy a 2004 Stratus SE Sedan with the 2.7L V6. The dealer is asking $5500, and it has 83 thousand miles on it.
I'd really appreciate it if someone who knows this model would be able to comment on how well the car holds up. I loved the way it drove, but I am worried I may be getting myself into trouble later on. With this sort of mileage should I make sure a moderate length warranty (6 months to a year) is included or go for a price reduction?
I've heard conflicting thoughts on this car, a friend of mine who is a mechanic said something about an electrical problem with the 04 Stratus? Although I couldn't find any information on that so he might be mistaken...
Thanks!

Vicf23,
I got my '04 Stratus little over a year and a hal***o with about 50,000 miles on on it. Since I’ve owned it I have put on another 20,000 and I have had no problems (knock on wood)expect for the A/c (which I fixed using information from this board.)
I should note that my car was formally a company car and it came with records showing that the recommended maintenance schedule had been followed to a T. In that sense my car probably doesn’t count as standard used car.
As along as everything looks good with the car I would say go with the Stratus mine has been great so far.
