JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS THIS PROBLEM AND KNOWS WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. THE CAR RUNS FINE ALL DAY THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STALLS AND SHUTS OF AT A LIGHT. SOMETIMES IM ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT STALLS A BIT BUT STAYS ON AND WILL NOT SHUT OF WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AFTER THAT. GOT THE CODES CHECKED AND NOTHING SHOWS ON THE COMPUTER.

 

sounds like a problem i had...what year and engine do you have...mine was an 01 R/T 3.0L

This sounds remarkably similarto a problem I am currently facing.

My 99 Stratus, 2.5L 6 cyclinder, auto transmission is stalling out, sometimes the engine recatches, sometimes not. The car restarts immediately upon being placed in park and the ignition keyturned to off, then back to ignition.

Mechanic reports that no codes are being returned, and that the fuel system is fine. He thought it was a problem with the transmission, but a transmission shop has given the transmission a clean bill of health now.

Does this sound similar to what you experienced? How were your cars' problems resolved?

 

My car would not start if it stalled or I turned if off. I had wait a couple of hours before it would start again. I replaced the crank position sensor to resolve the issue. I have 2000 Stratus 2.5L.

It could also be the distributor assy or PCM.

 

i have the same problem with my 01 rt. i had the computer checked and it came up as the camshaft postion sensor was bad. i havent replaced it yet bc its been fine lately. but eventually when i get everything else done on it i will take care of that.
