Hi, i have an automatic 04' StratusES Sadan, 2.7L. my car makes this little scratching sound only when the first time it switches gear from 2nd to 3rd. nothing after that, until i turn off the car.and then when i start the car after about an hour or so the samesound comes upon switchingto 3rd gear.i coulds only think of two example soudswhich resemble the one from my car.

SOUND DISCRIPTION:
1- the sound of rubbing two bricks together.
2- when a new driver learns to drive a stick shift, and he/she shifts really hard/fast and the engine make this scarchy sound "khkh."

in other words when i start the car, and put into "D" and drive, the very first time i hit 14mph, the sound comes. the sound is about 1 second long thats its. and it doesn't effect the cars performance at all. i just want the sound gone.

its been happening for about a month, it hasn't gotten worst or improved.

could anyone please help me out here, any suggestions?
