Hello,
I have a 2000 Dodge Stratus 2.0. I noticed the serpentine belt had a split in it. I replaced it and the new belt squealed. Replaced idler pulley and made sure tension was correct. Finally got another belt and it stopped, but the belt is coming off the crankshaft pulley after I drive for a while. Not completely off, but riding on the edge. (off towards engine) I believe that's what caused the last belt to split. Something seems to be out of line. Any suggestions?

 

I've looked at the belt and pulleys again today. I believe the AC is out of line. It's obviously been replaced or repaired because the two top bolts are missing. After replacing those, same problem.
