Removing Stratus R/T 3.0 Transmission - help?
I have the motor out and I'm trying to remove the Manual transmission/transaxle of this stratus r/t with the mitsubishi 3.0 v6
I see in the manual they wanted me to wedge a screwdriver in between the throwout bearing and the clutch fingers and pull the release lever in the opposite direction of nomal operation. I did all this and the tranny moves about an inch and a half away from the block and just stops there...
Anyone done this before or offer any advice? I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks, that sure would have been nice to have before I started this engine swap.
I understand my problem now - this wedge collar that is in between the pressure plate and the release bearing. I've definitely pried on it and it's not budging, I guess I'll go pry some more.
Note: the Haynes manual blows and is very vague and claims 2001 model year on contains a traditional clutch setup. False, it's modular, and so is the 03 stratus motor I just got.
Luckily it looks like someone already tapped the flywheel for bolts and replaced the clutch. They also modified the service hole with an angle ginder : / guess they had some trouble with the release bearing too.
