Default What is this part?

I am rebuilding a crashed 2005, 4 door Stratus 4 cyl.
My parts car is a 2001 with a 6 cyl.
On the '01, center dash, there is a gage(?) see attachment, between the vents.
The '05 doesn't have it. There is a plug for it on the '05, but just an empty "sunglasses cubby hole". What is it and can I put it on the '05 and plug it in?
Also while I have your attention...
I replaced both air bags and clock spring on the '05. Do I need to replace the air bag controller under the console, or will it work OK?
Please answer quick!

PS
Lots of parts from the '01 if anyone needs something....

I can answer part of that. The gauge you are looking at will show the direction (nsew), as well as exterior temp, and depending on what is included in the ECU mileage and avg mpg. The chrysler 300 and my friends dodge ram truck, have the same piece as an overhead console, above the rear view mirror.
Will the one from the 01 work with the 05? Try it! if all the wires match up, there is still the possibility the controller or certain sensors won't be present. ie: it may show mpg, but not nsew, or nothing at all. Worse case, you have a nice place to put your sunglasses...

If anyone has this same piece for a 95-00 stratus (would sit to the right of the fuel gauge on the cluster bezel), please let me know! I've been looking, as my ES did not include it...
