whenever i close a door or my trunk after it's been open for a while, there's this sound like a motor coming from the back passenger side of the car, around that wheel well. anyone know what it is? it lasts for about 10 seconds.

 

hmm..thats one i havent heard before...is this when the car is running or not running?

 

i've only noticed it with the car off

 

it could possibly be a load leveler? my step mom had a car that did that.

I actually figured out what this is. It's the dimming circuit for the interior lights.

Hey.......... I just replaced the blinker fluid in my neon, car runs great now.

 

i changed over to synthetic blinker fluid in the mirada and it got me into the 12s...

so it was the dimming circuit that went bad and was making a buzzing noise inside the car?? ive not heard of this happeneing...perhaps you could give a little more detail in case it happens to my RT or others?

 

I didn't say it went bad... it just makes that noise when it dims. It's not like really loud, it's barely more than a vibration noise. I think it might be the light in the trunk or something, but it's only noticeable from the outside.

 

I would not worry about it then.
