Strauts 2006, grinding noise
hey every body,
I have a 2006 Stratus SXT, 25K miles on it.
Since this morning noted front, grinding / rumbling noise towards the front.
Only occurs while the car moves, as I accelerate from 10mph the noise becomes faster like .. RRRR RRRR RRRR RRR.... however it is constant as car increases in gear, it just goes faster.
If I turn the gear to N while moving the noise continues.... I does NOT have relation to the gear I am on, only the speed.
Basically is low intensity "grinding" noise, faster as the car increases speed
Does not occur while standing.. did not find differences turning right or left...
ANY IDEAS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
THANKS,
MANUEL

Try a brake test. Get going to about 20mph then hit the brakes hard. If there's pulsation in the pedal, your ABS sensors are f-ed up. The same happened to my mom in her van (2001 ford [ugh] windstar) and it was her ABS wheel speed sensor. There was a grinding noise as she accelerated and it kept getting higher pitched as she went faster. Just a thought, don't quote me on it, please.
