It's not a very hard job. All you have to do is get the right wheel up, remove the wheel, brake pads, caliper and caliper bracket. Then, remove the three bolts holding the bearing assembly and then the bearing assembly will come right off. You may have to take a soft faced hammer to the nose of the driveshaft to separate it, but it will pop right out the front of the spindle without having to drop the lower control arm.
The bearings cost anywhere from $67.00 for Dynapak to $75.00 for Timken at Autozone.
I replaced my right front bearing this past Saturday, and the old bearing's condition was like nothing I've ever seen. The seals were still perfectly good, or appeared to be, and the bearing would turn smoothly. It was still tight, with no discernible play, and I was almost going to re-install it, but shook it slightly before I set it down, and it actually rattled from inside. I picked it back up and shook it more vigorously, and it sounded like a baby rattle in there. It was completely dry inside, but looked perfectly alright externally.
Darnedest thing I ever seen...
