Question '01 Stratus SE Intermittent Heat

Daughter's '01 Stratus heat works most of the time. Sometimes it just blows cools air. Engine warms up normally and gauge shows this. Have an Explorer that was very common to have a broken blend door which I fixed. Don't tell me this is the same. Could it just possibly be switch? Does anybody have good schematic or drawing of heater control panel and heater/cooling box? Any help appreciated.

Have a buddy who just did his Explorer's blend door. I don't think it was fun by looking at the photos he took. I had a 94 Caravan with a 3.0 that I fought that problem for a couple years with. There were some blend door issues with them with a TSB to drill a hole in the housing and oil it. My problem was an air pocket in the coolant lines. I finally had to put a flush Tee in the top of the heater hose near the firewall and bleed the air out. It worked perfect after that for many years.

The AC in my 01 Stratus comes in and out and I kind of suspect it might be a vacuum issue.

Hello. Please explain a little more of the issue. There are a couple of reasons for this type of problem. Air in the line is one. Also could be the fan blowing harder than it should which will blow cold then hot. This would lead to an electrical problem.
