Question 01 Dodge Stratus R/T issues...

I just bought an 01 dodge stratus r/t. 3.0L auto. from a private dealer 2 weeks ago. I test drove the car everything seemed fine nothing seemed wrong on the 2 hour drive home. The next day after I went to work let the car sit for an 8 hour work shift I started the car up and it sounds like the engine is running really hard. The car starts fine with no problem. The noise does go away after I start to drive. Then I started to smell oil burning. There is oil leaking from the oil fill cap, so I replaced the cap. Checked it the next day its still leaking oil. I checked the oil level and its reading full. The oil does not smell burnt and it is not cloudy. It still has 500 miles or so to go before I have to change the oil again. (The girl had it changed before I got the car). I have never had either of these issues with my truck or any other car until this one. Any suggestions please help. Thank you.

and a new oil cap is very cheap...if you think that it might be leaking, look into a new one. like i said, mine went bad sometime in 2007...so it lasted around 5 years and 60,000 miles.
