Electrical Problem - 2000 Stratus
I recently bought my daughter a 2000 Stratus. The other day she called me from work and said it would not start. Well, I went over there and jump started the car and she drove it home. Before I jumped it off, all the interior lights worked but there was nothing when the key was turned - not even the sound of the starter solenoid clicking. When I hooked up cables it started right up. However, when she got home she could not start it again, and she told me that she was experiencing some ticking. I jumped it again and let it run. Sure enough, there was a ticking sound kind of like a directional signal, but it wasn't on. Also, all of the interior and exterior lights dimmed with each "tick". Can anyone tell me what this is and how to fix it? Thanks.
I to have experienced that same issue, and when my mother owned the car she had that happen twice. it happens when you leave something plugged in the cigarette lighter.
I left my cell phone charger w/o the phone hooked to it plugged in, and my battery died. The Service department @ my local dodge dealer replaced the battery, and told me not to leave anything plugged in w/o the car engine being on. I didn't want to accept this so i am also looking for a solution, someone suggested that i put a switched relay in line with the cigarette lighter.
