Just bought my daughter a used 2003 Stratus. Went to check the oil. There is a dipstick toward the back of the engine comprtment with the label "engine and another near the air filter which appears to go right to the oil pan. I guess I had assumed that the one in back was for the ATF but ...

Also, does anyone know where I might get a reasonably priced owners manual? Thanks in advance.

Dipstick by the air filter on the 02 R/T is for the ATF.

 

I agree, mine has a white handle (ATF).

 

Yeah, you could just pull the dipstick and if its pink its ATF and if its black its your oil stick. =)

...another thing to check is see if the stick has markings relative to temperature. I believe only the ATF stick will have marks relative to the temp.

 

Also, the ATF dipstick is shorter and a bit wider

 

Now you're just getting ridiculous. You know I can't tell size differences at that scale.
