Default threaded holes in drum to remove them

Ok I rented a puller from autozone to get my drums off my 05 stratus sxt, and the puller isnt quite big enough.

there are 2 holes in the drum that are threaded, and Im sure I cant push the drum off by putting a bolt through the holes, but I dont know the bolt size.

The autozone guy said maybe 3/8.

Anybody know the size of those little holes in the drums?

bolt size, and pitch would be helpful. As far as length, Ill get ones long enough to push the drum off.

As far as the hole in the backing plate that is used to release the shoes, I couldnt get the right angle on mine because the hole os i n an awkward place, so using the little threaded holes in the front of the drum to push it off is my plan.

Thanx, Lance

those holes are EXACTLY for removing the drums. make sure you go back and forth between the 2 holes so you don't warp the drum. I use some old intake manifold bolts from a 2.2... I wanna say they are 8mm x 1.5 but don't quote me on that, I don't have one infront of me to verify. Also, if they seem a bit sticky, I'll spray the center w/ penetrating oil and as I load the screws, I tap the drum with a brass hammer to help jar the drum loose so I don't put so much pressure on the bolts and potentially strip the holes.

I believe they are M8x1.25 .... You just thread a bolt in each side an it will pop off. MAKE SURE THE E-BRAKE IS NOT ENGAGED.

As I said, I wasn't sure because I don't have one in front of me. but if it's 1.25 could very well be that. I do know that it's an 8mm for sure.

Yeah, the threads are just a hair finer. I mentioned the e-brake because my dumb *** left it on the one time making things very difficult lol. It should come off with ease.

The 8mm 1.25 pitch bolts work perfect! The back brakes had plenty of time left on them, but they were really glazed looking, so for 20 bux, I still put the new shoes I had on, and the squeaking from the brakes has gone away.

I think maybe they were squeaking from being glazed so much....

Thanx for the help on the bolts
