Programming Keyless Entry
So I have managed to loose my keyless entry fobs, and bought a replacement. The problem with this is that you need a working fob to program a new one. I tried to contact a dealer, but there are none close to me that are still open.
I have a 06' stratus sxt and Im looking to know if there are any other options to programming the fob's?
I have heard of shorting a pin on the OBD II to a ground to force the car into programming mode, but not sure which pin. Also the closest local dealer wants $100 to hook up a DRB III tool to program?!?!

JRasimas, on the obd diag conector ground the black wire, wich is the ground (key has to be on when doing all this ) after grounding obd conector push the emerg flasher button in and out five times with in ten seconds this should put it in programming mode. then push the lock button on the remote. then turn the key off and that will take it out of programming mode then disconect the ground wire. i had to do this years ago before i purchased all the high tech scanners. if this dont work, let me know and i will go and look it up again for you. ps good luck jon
There are 2 black wires under the dash where the obdII connector once was. I have a solid black and a Black with a green stripe. I tried on both and it was unsuccessful. I grounded it to the chassis where there are 2 other grounds connected to.
I also have another post in here about where the obdII wires go on the connector. I broke it earlier this year and just got around to replacing it.

JRasimas,
It's not "Close" per-se, but the Chrysler dealership up in Moosic (Ertley) still has the ability to program key fobs. I asked about it for you when I drove by this morning. The service manager was not aware of any way to program it without either the scan tool, or an existing key fob.
