I have a 2000 dodge stratus with a 2.4 liter, automatic transmission. I was wondering what kind of awd drivetrain I could get for my stratus? Would a awd eclipse drivetrain would fit? I know it would be a tricky job, alot of cut and welding , but just wondering please help!

 

seeing the different mods you've asked about (3.0 or 3.5l swap) as well as attempting an AWD conversion. Either will cost LOTS of $$$$$$, and there is no direct hookups. I can say that the AWD dodge/Chrysler minivans use the 41AE trans, which is basically our beloved 41TE trans modified for use with the Viscous coupler to rear axle, it might be feasible. Keeping in mind that the vans are much larger, you might need to sacrifice some things to get that coupling to fit. Also know that the engine bay of the 1g stratus is pretty small, and very tight around my 2.5lv6. Putting a larger engine (the AWD will suck HP with added mechanical friction), would be wanted. Keep us posted (with pictures!) as you make progress with this mod. We'll all be pulling for you since this is the first of its kind
