Hi. This site doesn't look very active but, I hope I can get some help. I'm getting a rattling/thunking sound from the front end when hitting even small bumps/imperfections in the road. I just paid out $500.00 for new front struts and mounts put on but, the rattling is still present. I took both front wheels off and used a big screw driver and prybar to see if any suspension or steering components were worn. Everything visually looks good and solid. I even thought the brake calipers or pads were bouncing but, the noise is present when applying brakes as well. Anyone got any other ideas??

Possibly the motor mounts. How many doors does your stratus have?

 

I have an 05 as well, and experience the same thing. Can't figure out where or what is rattling...
Mine is a 4 door.

 

Had your problem on my 02 R/T, had the swaybar links replaced and it helped.
