How do I know if I have variable assist power steering on my 98 2.4l Stratus?

Not aware of any "variable" power assist on the first gen strats. I have the ES-v6 and it just has power assist steering. So... Either you have power assist steering, or you don't.

The parts store wants to know if it is varible assist or not to find the right pressure hose.
