Default Aftermarket Receiver

So, for X-mas, im going to be getting my girl friend a head-unit, she always complains about her stock one, and not being able to hook her iPod up to it, because the tuner is sorta tacky, and not any good.

But anyways, i know how to change CD receivers, but not necessarily in that vehicle.

I think its an '04 Sedan, 4 cylinder, ill have to check up on that next time i see it.

I know in my car, i basically had to take out the whole middle part of the dash (very annoying, thats what i get for getting a foreign car i guess) but are there any secrets for this type of car? Does it come right out, or will it be a struggle?

Thanks a bunch!
Shawn

If it's older than you think, (first generation, IE: looks like the one in my sig) than it's much easier than you would think. There is a panel that just covers the radio and the AC controls. Held in by just clips. Gently but firmly pull that out. 2 screws hold the radio in, Highly recommended to use a wire harness as some models may have an amplifier that won't work unless wired correctly (you will hear sharp highs, but no mid or bass response) and you're pretty much done

The '01+ guys here will be able to explain the process for the 2nd gen cars. Knowing coupe or sedan will make a difference here.

Be patient, some of the members haven't realized that you have to click "last post" on the top of the page to see anything new. Forum is a little messed up the past month or so.
