Changing Engine Mounts
After reading the forums I decided to replace my engine mounts with the polyurethane mounts from Summit. I've got one word of advice to others ... take the stinkin' mounts to a machine shop and let them press out the old mounts ... geez louise ... I beat that sucker for an hour before I got the old insert out. I hit my knuckle twice with a hammer (busted a blood vessel). At one point I had a chisel wedged and stuck ... and while trying to pull it out, the stupid thing unexpectedly came loose and I basically punched myself in the mouth ... hard ... I mean, it really hurt ... like someone had just clocked me good. But when it was over I stood victorious ... and the new red mounts look sweet. I'll have to post pics.
As an alternative sudgestion to taking them to a machine shop, several auto parts stores have a "rent a tool". There are presses and other specialized tools. Saves the frustration (and whatever $$ the machine shop would charge!)
